Job description

Position objectives

Plan and carry out testing project(s) in accordance with general plan, create, run and conduct a series of testing processes as a part of a larger project. This includes but not restricted to integration and development of Linux board support packages, kernel device drivers together with the mainline Yocto Linux community. Merging code upstream is a priority for us, whenever possible.

As a member of this team you will work around NFV, SDN, OpenStack/OpenDaylight, KVM and other virtualization solutions and Cloud technologies with focus on providing an optimized NFV solution.

Together with your team colleagues, you are working closely with the project manager (PM) which is providing you support for the daily technical jobs, and with the delivery director (DD) which is empowering your skills and expertise by providing the needed knowledge, information and resources.

Essential functions

  1. Analysis and design, development, integration, optimization, testing, documentation, training and support.
  2. Customization, deployment and maintenance of Linux distribution on different hardware platforms.
  3. Interact with customers, partners and in open source communities.


  1. College graduated in Computer Science, Telecommunications or equivalent.
  2. At least 3 years experience in a similar role.

Required key skills

  1. Good experience in C/C++, scripting (bash/python), Java.
  2. Embedded software and Linux applications programming experience.
  3. Experience working within open source projects (such as OPNFV, OpenStack, Linaro, Yocto, Linux Foundation).

Great to have

  1. Experience in Linux development related to kernel optimization, real-time and/or virtualization (eg DPDK, NO_HZ, Core Isolation, hypervisors).
  2. Strong technical knowledge about embedded/network systems development and/or modern HW architectures (System-On-Chip architectures).
  3. Good understanding of hypervisors technologies, strong knowledge of Linux virtualization solutions (eg. VMware, Xen, KVM, Linux Containers).
  4. Passion about software development, problem solving skills, interaction with other people and to learn.
  5. Excellent proficiency in both written and oral English.
