Job description

Position objectives

The team is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Public SDK and the JavaScript Runtime. The SDK is used for developing 1st, 2nd and 3rd party apps for our smartwatches. This is a cross functional team, with members working on mobile, firmware, backend and frontend. Our stakeholders include other internal teams, community developers and end users.
We’re looking for people who are excited about health and technology, and how these together can make a difference in people’s everyday lives.

Essential functions

  1. Defining test framework requirements
  2. Developing modules to automate feature test cases
  3. Working closely with other FW QA engineers to create TypeScript applications which run via an automation framework to exercise SDK functionality
  4. Researching evolving test and automation trends
  5. Designing test specs and create test strategy for new and existing features
  6. Creating, prioritizing, and organizing test cases into logical suites for both automated and manual execution
  7. Automating test cases using firmware interfaces for functional, performance, and stress tests
  8. Executing and monitoring results of automated suites within our CI infrastructure
  9. Working with other engineers to increase manual and automated test coverage
  10. Utilizing test and development best practices, patterns, and processes within the engineering team
  11. Mentoring junior engineers on testing best practices, patterns and processes
  12. Working in an Agile test environment

Required key skills

  1. Great communication and collaboration skills
  2. Proficient in Python, Java or equivalent language
  3. Previous experience with automation/scripting
  4. Work experience in an Agile development environment
  5. Previous experience with JavaScript/TypeScript

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  2. Passionate about technology and software development
  3. 3+ years of total experience in QA/Testing & Test Automation
  4. 1+ years experience with firmware or embedded devices
  5. Previous experience with Unix operating systems and networking
  6. Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills

Previous experience with mobile testing
