Job description

Position objectives

Currently seeking qualified engineers to develop system requirements, product software, test cases, and test software for a variety of rotary and fixed wing platforms.

Project brief

  • Experience with systems and software tools (DOORS, Python, ADA, C, Matlab, JAMA)
  • Time management skills – ability to work unsupervised, multi-task, and coordinate work
  • Basics of risk management (identify, quantify, and mitigate risks)
  • Effective communication (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
  • Scope management
  • Perform cost/benefit analysis
  • Familiarity with the AGILE development process
  • Familiarity with Flight Controls, Flight Management Applications, and Flight Management Products

Contract details

6+ months contract


  1. Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or technical discipline from an accredited university.
  2. At least 10 years of avionics experience.
  3. Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related scientific discipline.
  4. Strong object oriented language (C++, C#, Python, etc.) and software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.).
  5. Embedded software experience is required.
  6. Knowledge of DO-178 Development Standards.

Required key skills

  1. Significant Avionics FMS or Flight Controls software experience is required
  2. Working knowledge of high-order programming languages (C, Ada, C++, Matlab/Simulink, etc.)
  3. Demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities
  4. Strong communication and presentation skills
  5. Software experience that can also write Low and Higher Level Requirements and associated tests.
  6. Debugging software on target hardware to obtain root cause is also a plus
  7. Strong background with GUI a plus!
  8. Hands-on experience with avionics and flight deck controls is preferred.
  9. Defense or Aerospace industry experience is preferred.
