Job description

Position objectives

Our client designs, develops, manufactures, markets, and distributes electronic equipment for marine use. The company targets both recreational and light commercial markets with their products, which includes MFDs, GPS Chartplotters, Radars, Fishfinders, Sonars.
The QA engineer is responsible for testing the Raymarine MFD (multi-functional display) products (http://www.raymarine.com/multifunction-displays).

Essential functions

  1. Create and implement test plans
  2. Maintain and improve test plans, test cycles and test cases
  3. Configure complex test systems to perform product testing
  4. Identify, document and report defects and issues that arise during testing
  5. Bug fix retesting
  6. Participate in daily SCRUM meetings and report overall test status and results to project team

Required key skills

  1. Handsā€on functional testing experience including system testing and regression testing
  2. Experienced in logging and tracking defects using issue tracking tools such as JIRA
  3. Experienced in at least one version control tool (such as Git)
  4. Positive and proactive attitude with the ability to efficiently manage own time
  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  6. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
  7. Great attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Good analytical skills and ability to spot flaws and inconsistencies

Qualifications

  1. University degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent
  2. 2+ years of working experience in testing
  3. GIT/Jira knowledge

Great to have

  1. Excellent written & verbal communication skills (English language)
  2. Any testing qualifications would be an advantage
  3. Understanding of Python code and writing programs that assist in testing process
  4. Confluence knowledge
  5. Experience of working in a global team environment
