On the 12th of July 2018, Florin Rotaru, Delivery Director at Enea, was a guest speaker at the Ziarul Financiar Conference, Romanian Brands. How to build a powerful brand?  where he gave a speech on what does building a powerful brand imply. This conference is part of a multi-conference initiative to discover Romanian brands and to share the challenges of building a brand with entrepreneurs and top executives.

To build a powerful brand is not easy. But to find out more about this subject, we’ve asked Florin a few questions.

What do you need to build a powerful brand?

A brand could be easily built nowadays, but to have great achievements in your field, it requires a lot of dedication and work. Flexibility is one of the most important things you must have when you want to build a brand together with the agility to move, think and understand quickly. You must see the opportunities and you must be prepared to adjust your business when it’s the case.

Also, the product must be at its highest possible level. A good product means happy customers and happy customers equals faithful and long-term customers. Nonetheless, a powerful brand should have qualified and valuable employees.

In this context in which top talents choose the Western mirage of a better life, could you give us a piece of advice on how can we convince them to stay and work in Romania?

Employees represent one of the most important resources of any company. Therefore, what a brand can do for its employees is to invest in them. At Enea we invest constantly in our employees. First, I think the financial aspect is important when someone decides to move abroad. To retain our employees, we prefer to offer them financial compensations, which reflects their real value.

Thus, our software engineers are motivated to stay in the country because their income is close to what they can find in other countries, with a 20%-30% difference, compensated by the cost of living, which is lower in Romania.

Also, employees need to be motivated and passionate about their work and for that reason we like to offer them exciting projects and the opportunity to work with the latest technologies. We like to challenge them, and they give their best every time.

Could you give us some insights about Enea’s projects?

I think one of the most exciting projects Enea has, is right here, in Iasi. Now we are working with ESA (European Space Agency) to develop software applications that could process the images taken in Space.

Additionally, Enea is working on a few more programs for the space industry, such as augmented reality, VR, and some more technologies that will help to detect black holes. We achieved all these projects and many more by investing in our employees, in the quality of products and by having a flexible organizational culture.
