Job description

Position objectives

As a QA Engineer, you will be working in the Customer success team, assuring a high quality of implementation for a specific technology company’s product. The company lets financial institutions adapt to rapidly changing customer expectations and match the speed and flexibility of start-ups with personalized products and services, in weeks rather than months or years.
The company’s platform is a collection of technologies that allow financial services companies to roll-out end to end hyper-personalised customer journeys, services and products.

Essential functions

  1. Work with Digital Consultants, Development Engineering team and UX designers to understand the requirements
  2. Test current products and identify deficiencies
  3. Report bugs and errors to development teams
  4. Suggest solutions to identified product problems
  5. Help troubleshoot issues
  6. Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  7. Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  8. Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  9. Communicate QA status, progress on deliverables and risks to stakeholders
  10. Identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest actions for improvement
  11. Identify key KPIs for product quality

Required key skills

  1. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  2. Familiarity with software debugging tools and protocols (e.g. Fiddler, Charles Proxy, Burp, Wireshark)
  3. Excellent analytical, debugging, problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
  4. Attention to details
  5. High level of initiative with ability to self-manage
  6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  7. Inquisitive and confident by nature with great interpersonal and people skills
  8. Qualifications

    1. Exceptional written and verbal English skills
    2. At least 3 years’ experience in software testing
    3. Knowledge of the entire SDLC, testing methodologies and their direct implementation to projects
    4. Good knowledge of SQL and scripting
    5. Experience testing browser-based/web applications

    Great to have

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    2. Familiarity with automation framework (Selenium/ Java/ JavaScript) and conceptually understanding how that fits into a holistic QA approach
    3. Conceptual knowledge of JavaScript, HTML CSS, XML, SQL, Shell script or similar language
    4. Experience with performance and/or security testing
    5. Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
